In this class, we will:

  • Discuss the two main types of cabinets – Frame and Frameless.
  • Review the many styles of cabinets used in the kitchen, bathroom, closet, garage and shop.
  • Review the various heights for cabinets, based on their use.
  • Learn how to layout your cabinet project.
  • Review the various construction methods.
  • Build a typical “Face Frame” Base cabinet for a kitchen or shop, including:
    • Cabinet “box” parts & preparation
    • Door parts and preparation
      • Inset & Overlay Doors
      • Flat panel, raised panel and glass doors (for uppers)
      • Door mounting & alignment
    • Drawer parts and preparation
      • Inset & Overlay Drawers
      • Joinery options for drawers
      • Drawer front mounting & alignment
    • Hardware considerations
      • Hinges
        • Concealed vs visible
      • Drawer Slides
        • Heavy duty bearing slides vs epoxy slides
        • Weight rating
